Rachel is currently a Senior at Illinois Wesleyan where she studies Psychology, Pre-Occupational Therapy and will be graduating in the Spring. She has just finished her fourth year of varsity swimming for the Illinois Wesleyan Titans. She was a 4 year varsity swimmer at Bartlett High School and also swam for the Academy Bullets Swim Club, Bartlett Electrix Swim Team, and the Bartlett Barracudas throughout her 12 years in the sport. She works as a coach for Funky Fish Swim Club, is a swim instructor at Illinois Wesleyan, and looks forward to her fourth year of coaching for the Bartlett Barracudas at the Bartlett Park district, where she has been employed since 2013. Rachel is most excited to help the Barracudas grow as athletes, swimmers, and people! She looks forward to promoting positivity, good work ethic, and fun over the course of the season!
Emily is finishing up her last semester at UW-Whitewater and will graduate in May 2019 with a degree in Elementary Education and licensed to teach grades K-9th! During her 17 year swimming career, she swam for Glendale Heights Dolphins, Bartlett Barracudas, Bartlett Electrix Swim Team, Academy Bullets, and wrapped up the last 4 years of her career apart of the UW-Whitewater Swim and Dive Team. Emily has been working with swimmers through the swim lesson program at the Bartlett Park District since 2012. This will be her third summer coaching for the Bartlett Barracudas! She is excited to get back on pool deck and work with the swimmers again! This season she is looking forward to helping swimmers accomplish their goals, improve their swimming, and helping them grow not only as athletes, but as people too! Emily is ready for another season of FAST swimming!
Ross is currently a student at Elgin Community College, working for his Associates in Arts. His current major is Communications, in hope of becoming a sports broadcaster on TV one day. Ross started swimming at the age of 8, representing the Bartlett Barracudas Swim Team, Bartlett Electrix, and Academy Bullets Swim Club. Ross also swam varsity for South Elgin High School through his junior year, and was team captain for two years. He has taught swim lessons and was a deck attendant for the Bartlett Park District for the past 2.5 years. Eager to give back to the team where his passion for swimming began, Ross is thrilled to have the opportunity to coach Barracuda swimmers this summer. He is looking forward to seeing swimmers grow athletically and personally, applying skills learned both in and out of the water.
Nicole is currently a student at Loyola University Chicago finishing up her first year where she is majoring in Biology on a Pre-Dental track. She has been swimming for about 12 years now and has been a swimmer on Elgin Cyclones Swim Team and Academy Bullets Swim Club. She was a 4 year Varsity swimmer on the Elgin High School Swim Team and was Co-Captain for her last two years. Nicole has been employed by the Bartlett Park District since 2016 as a lifeguard/swim instructor. She is so excited to work with the Barracudas this summer and can’t wait to become a part of the family she has always seen on an early morning guard shift!
